What do we do?

We are a federally approved non profit organization that supports the educational needs of underprivileged children in rural and urban Africa. Starting with the country of Benin, West Africa, SOW seeks to fulfill its mission by accomplishing the following goals: (1) Meet children's basic academic needs by providing sorely needed educational materials and academic programs. (2) Build and/or renovate classrooms. (3) Provide additional instructional resources for teachers. Below you will find our accomplishments:

                                                              

  • Summer 0f 2009

    • We provided academic summer programs for children in the schoool of Gbagla-Koke.

  • Summer of 2008.

    • We put textbooks, workbooks and school supplies in the hands of over 500 children in two rural schools (Gbagla-Koke, Lotin Gbegoedo and one urban school (Hinhoude) in Benin, West Africa.

    • We provided academic summer programs for children in all three schools.

    • In one school, (Gbagla-Koke) we provided 120 tins to replace badly damaged tatchered roofs.

  • 2006-2007.

    • We provided textbooks, summer academic programs for children in the schools of Akokponawa, Gbeko and Hinhoude, all located in the province of Ouémé, Benin, West Africa.

    • We also provided yearlong academic intervention programs in the school of Hinhoude.  

What remains to be done?

  • Continue to provide sorely needed textbooks, workbooks and school supplies for the children

  • Build sturdy classrooms

  • Furnish classrooms

  • Build schools
